Stairway to Heaven

“There’s a lady who’s sure all that glitters is gold
And she’s buying the stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she’s buying the stairway to heaven.”

When Jimmy Page and Robert Plant wrote Stairway to Heaven back in 1970, I doubt they had visions of this stairway from an abandoned airport near the Salton Sea.  Howver, coming up these stairs from the graffiti laden basement complete with an easter bunny hung from the rafters, the sky sure looked like heaven to me.  Little known fact:  Jimmy Page recorded the solo on Stairway with a 1959 Fender Telecaster known as the “Dragon” and used a 1965 Fender Electric XII on the rhythm parts.  Why do I bring up Fender?  Tune in Monday…

Awesome! I have the same shot, but no fisheye and now I think I’ll never process it :)

    Yours rocks! Love this!

Gee thanx Rick. I had one as well (non-fish) and like Mike that one will probably never see the light of day. Sweet shot.

I didn’t get this one either! Love the processing! It’s a good thing you have that Nikon otherwise we would all have been trying to borrow that fisheye lens!
