Fountain at MGM

Anytime you are in Las Vegas with a group of people, you always have to have a designated meeting spot.  You know, “Hey lets meet in 10 minutes by the [fill in the blank].”  When I was at WPPI this year, it was no different.  Our little spot was this fountain near the elevator banks at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.  While standing there waiting for the slower members of the crew, a.k.a. those who need a few additional minutes of work to look presentable… you know who you are, I thought the fountain might make for a cool shot.  I thought it would be even cooler with the Fisheye since the room was round, and the Fish would add to the curves without seeming too “fishy”.

Yup, this is awesome. I’m gonna have to revisit my shot of the same fountain. Love how well the fisheye works here!

Love how the green just jumps out at you. Like Heath mentioned, love the use of fisheye as well!

Great use of the fisheye RIck. I love the contrast of the green with all the golden yellow

Fisheye is perfect for this. Dig the DOF as well.

I like how it’s out of focus behind the fountain…adds great depth.

Vert nice image capture and rendering. I’m slapping my hand on my forehead, I’ve passed through there many times and it never occurred to me to capture the image. But then I’ll use as my excuse the fact that I have never been there when it was not full of traffic.

Great curves on the fountain, and symmetry in your composition. I like it!

The fish works great here – good thinking! Love the warm tones. How’d you get all the people to stay out of your shot?

I think I was lucky with no people… plus I think the 4AM on a Wednesday helped.
